MATCH RULES & REGULATIONS

1 Match duration is 13 minutes each way.


Squad

2 We operate a flexible squad system. Teams may use as many players as they wish during the season, however only 9 players may be used on any one match night. Players may only play for ONE team in the league.


Penalties

3a A PENALTY SHALL BE AWARDED WHEN;
  1. The goalkeeper comes out of the area and, at the referees discretion, has gained an advantage in doing so.
  2. A defender enters his own area and by doing so gains an advantage.
3b The penalty taker is allowed no more than two steps before striking the ball.


The Goalkeeper/The Area

4+a After a goal is scored, the goalkeeper shall roll the ball out to restart play.
4b The goalkeeper must not leave his area.
4c If a team makes a change of goalkeeper during the match then the referee must be notified before the change is made.
4d The referee shall use his discretion to determine whether a player has entered the area accidentally without gaining an advantage.
4e The goalkeeper may not kick the ball under any circumstances except in the course of making a save.


Backpasses

5 When an outfield player receives the ball from the goalkeeper, the ball MUST be touched by another player before being passed back to the goalkeeper.


Substitutes

6a Teams are allowed three substitutes who must stand behind the goal which is occupied by their goalkeeper or in the viewing area.
6b Substitutions can be made as often as the team wishes.


The Head-Height Rule

7 For OUTDOOR leagues there is NO head height ruling.
For INDOOR leagues only, the ball is not allowed to pass above head height. An indirect free kick will be awarded against the team who play the ball above head height.


Free Kicks

8a ALL free kicks are INDIRECT.
8b Players must be two yards from the ball for free kicks.


Sin Bin / Dismissal

9a If a player is shown the yellow card then he is sin-binned for two minutes and must wait behind his own goal until the referee instructs him to come back onto the field of play. If the player refuses to leave the pitch immediately then a red card and dismissal will occur. The referee shall be the sole timekeeper in cases of sin-bin.
9b If a player is dismissed then he should leave the pitch immediately. Failure to do so will result in the referee automatically awarding the match to his opponents.


Missed Matches

10a If any team fails to show for a match without informing Soccer Sixes staff IT MAY RESULT IN YOU TEAM BEEN REMOVED from the league. You will still be charged the full match fee for the missed game and the remaining fixtures.
10b You CANNOT cancel matches. If any team is unable to make a fixture then a 5-0 defeat will be automatically incurred.
10c Should you cancel a game or not turn up for a game they will be fined £20, which will be payable by debit / credit card before your next game.


Terms & Conditions

11a The signing of the entry form indemnifies Soccer Sixes from any responsibility for personal injury or lost property whilst participating in the organised leagues. Teams are responsible for arranging their own personal insurance cover.
11b All players must wear shin pads.
11c All players must be over the age of 18 years.
11d The scoring system is 2 points for a win and 1 point for a draw.
11e Each team is commited to play a whole season, should you wish to pull out you agree to be liable for the whole seasons match costs.
11f Payment for our leagues can either be made in full for the season, or teams can choose to pay weekly to the match referee.
11g We will organise a qualified referee for each match on the understanding that it is agreed between the parties that the referee is supplying his or her services as a self employed individual acting as a principal and that the referee is not acting on behalf of Soccer Sixes as an agent. Each team will be responsible for paying the match referee for the match referees services
11h * LEAGUE CANCELLATION POLICY.
To keep our leagues running smoothly a team must be committed to its weekly fixtures. We operate a flexy squad system so all teams can easily field a team. Please ensure you give at least 7 days notice of a team being unable to play a fixture, or the team will be fined a Non-Attendance Fee, as follows: A team who is a 'no-show' without any prior notice will receive a £30 fine, payable the day after the league BY DEBIT CARD. If a team notifies us of not being able to play within the 7 days leading up to a match, then only a £20 fine will be payable the day after the league BY DEBIT CARD.



DISCIPLINE SYSTEM

The Football Association (FA) have overall responsibility in relation to the discipline system. Soccersixes do not control discipline its between your referee and the county FA
